Staff at Progress Housing Group have caused a stir to raise funds for a cancer charity. Staff from our Property Services division and New Progress scheme managers and residents from four of our Sheltered Schemes took part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Staff baked cakes and had a book sale at the Leyland office whilst residents at four of our local sheltered schemes got together for coffee to raise over £560.
The organisation's Charity Committee has pledged to round up the sum raised to £660.
Said Brian King, Progress's Charity Committee:
'Staff really pulled together whether to bake cakes, make the coffee or just turn up and pledge money at the event. We are always keen to support fund raising efforts that can benefit people living in the local community.'
