Level three | Become a Tenant Board Member

New Progress Housing Association is governed by a Board of Management. We currently have four tenant places on the Board, and very occasionally a vacancy arises for a replacement.

Being a Tenant Board Member would mean that you had a direct say in how New Progress is run. It is an opportunity to learn new skills, help run a community-focused business, visit new places and meet new people. Being a Tenant Board Member is a serious commitment but it is also very rewarding and interesting.

How much time will it take? You will be expected to attend Board meetings every three months, which are usually two hours long. You will be required to prepare for the meetings by reading a range of reports, which will be sent to you in advance.

You would need to attend occasional training sessions and conferences and you may occasionally be asked to represent New Association at local or regional meetings and social events.

Will I need to trave or attend meetings? Most meetings will be held at Sumner House in Leyland. You may be asked to attend conferences and other events in various locations around the country. All travel and other expenses will be paid.

How do I find out more? If you would like to find out more information about becoming a Tenant Board Member, please phone our Head of Governance on 01772 450600 or email enquiries@progressgroup.org.uk
