Tenant Glynn loves his job cleaning and polishing cars until they shine.
Glynn, who lives in Lancashire, said he had been looking for work like this for a long time. He was delighted when he was offered a voluntary job at a local car dealership.
We asked Glynn to describe his working day. He said: “I make my own way to work on the bus. My job involves car valeting; that means cleaning motor cars that are ready for sale. I polish the cars to make sure that they shine. I hoover the inside of the cars making sure that there is no rubbish or marks on the interiors. I also wash the cars down and I sometimes get wet!
“I enjoy my job as I enjoy helping other people. I have met a lot of people and I hope to continue working there. It is a friendly atmosphere and hopefully, for my future targets in life, I would like to get a paid job one day in the near future.”
Glynn's Manager supervised Glynn when he was new to the job. She said: “He’s very good at his job. He’s polite, helpful and just gets on and does it. He always has a nice word to say about everyone - he’s a pleasure to work with!”
